What happens when you put one down-on-his-luck amateur novelist and one amnesiac ghost girl in one bargain-priced haunted apartment? You get the punch line of Bambi’s life. The good news is, Ako is neither the ghost of the person who supposedly committed suicide in the rental nor an unfriendly poltergeist hell-bent on causing chaos. But she needs a place to hang out until she can ascend to wherever ghosts go and Bambi needs source material for his career, so maybe they can have a mutually beneficial relationship...

A ghost...or not a ghost? That is the question, and the entire reason an amateur novelist, a psychic, and a high school girl go traipsing around a culture festival. Once there, they discover the secret behind Ako’s existence! Or so they think... But life—and death—just isn’t that simple. As for the inhabitants of Bambi’s haunted apartment complex, the spookiness inherent in Ako’s existence begins affecting the world around them as well...

Accepting others is difficult. Accepting yourself is even harder. But that’s exactly what needs to be done if Yamashiro ever wants to stop her ghostly alter ego, Ako, from haunting amateur novelist Bambi. Still, that would mean forgiving herself and acknowledging the true nature of her friendship with Azusa. In the meantime, though, Bambi’s pretty happy with the status quo, especially since he’s starting to dread the day Ako disappears from his life...

She no longer disappears with the dawn. As the distinctions between Ako and Yamashiro become more and more defined, Ako’s ghostly form has become much less phantasmic. However, the question remains—can Ako and Yamashiro ever become fully-fledged beings in their own right, or will an important part of them always be missing? If you ask amateur novelist Bambi’s opinion…well, after spending so much time with Ako, he can’t imagine life without her anymore…

He can’t fight this feeling anymore. Death? Life? None of that really matters to Bambi. Even if Ako makes up with Yamashiro, that won’t ease the loneliness in his heart. Still, there are definitely downsides to living with a kind-of-dead person. Like being surrounded by a constant chill or knowing that no matter how much time passes, she’ll remain forever young. But as they say, love is blind, so it’s probably too late for him…

“I don’t think he’ll live long.” Those words from the fortune teller haunt Ako’s every waking moment. After all, Bambi’s obsession with her seems to be spiraling out of control—he won’t sleep, he won’t eat, and he keeps getting closer and closer even though her chill makes him sick! But Bambi’s still-beating heart won’t allow him to let her go, even if it’s in both of their best interests. And he’s the only one who thaws her frozen heart, so she can’t bring herself to push him away…

Fragile is the boundary between life and death. Not-so-amateur novelist Bambi has been toiling away all through the night for the sake of his beloved story…which is at last being released in print! And although it’s a dream come true for most writers, in the back of Bambi’s mind, it’s only the first step toward real happiness. After all, the royalties he gets from book sales will help pave the way for the future he envisions—with Ako, together forever. Yet his darkest nightmare becomes a reality when an accident on the stairwell returns Ako to Yamashiro’s body, meaning she might be gone forever…
