Atelier Marie and Elie -Zarlburg Alchemist-

Set several years after the first series, Atelier Marie & Elie: Zarlburg Alchemist.

Based on the PS3 RPG, this tells the story of the young, somewhat lazy alchemist Rorona. Rorona lives in the small kingdom of Arland, with her teacher Astrid and a helper called Hom. Unfortunately for Rorona, Alchemy is not as popular as it once was, and the government has given her atelier a three year review period to prove that it should not be shut down. Rorona lives peacefully amidst her numerous friends while she tries her best to prove the usefulness of alchemy. She works to complete the tasks assigned to her by the government, in addition to helping out various townspeople. Though she messes up sometimes, and occasionally slacks off, she’ll try her best to protect her atelier!

This world has gone through many Dusks, and is slowly nearing its end. Within this world, in the western reaches of the "Land of Dusk," there was a nation that prospered thanks to its use of alchemy. There, in order to survive the eventual arrival of the "Dusk End," the people devoted their efforts to rediscover and recreate lost alchemic technologies. Rediscovered technology from the past era was gathered in the alchemy research city known as "Central," where research was conducted on how to halt the advance of the twilight. One of the heroes is a young man who researched alchemy in Central, the other a girl living in a small town on the frontier. This girl's name is Escha. In the process of using her knowledge of ancient alchemy to help others, she was assigned to the Development Department. The young man's name is Logy. Having learned the newest alchemic techniques in Central, he requested a transfer to this understaffed town to make use of his abilities, and meets Escha when he is assigned to the Development Department as well. Rorona, an alchemist-in-training of Arland, spends her days completing requests and helping people, while living near her many friends. Her life is sometimes complicated by alchemical problems, mysterious strangers, or fights with her friends, but Rorona does her best to see that her atelier will last through any challenge!
