Yukiji, an unsuccessful ukiyo-e artist, is a dark enforcer who will hand down death sentence to villains who evade the law. Oito, who lives in the same tenement house, returns home after being raped by the owner of the large store where she works. Upon learning the circumstances, Yukiji visits the store, wondering why his daughter had to go through such a thing, but the owner commits a mysterious suicide shortly thereafter. Having discovered the truth behind Oito's father's death, Yukiji slips into the dark night, clutching the folding umbrella he used for his side job...
