Shin Getter

The first Getter Robo series chronologically. Published 15 years before the rest of the manga, Getter Robo pioneered the idea of the combining and transforming robot. Millions of years ago, the dinosaurs were driven deep underground due to the sudden arrival of "Getter Rays" on Earth. After evolving into sentient beings, they grew bitter and vengeful at the humans who replaced them on the surface and began plotting their attack on humanity. Fighting against them is Getter Robo, a machine built by Professor Saotome which uses the mysterious Getter Rays as its power source. Piloting it are three strong-willed young men - the violent martial artist Nagare Ryoma, the psychopathic yet highly intelligent revolutionary Jin Hayato, and the hot-blooded Judo master Tomoe Musashi. Each controls one of three specially designed combat jets which can be combined together in different forms to form three different kinds of giant robots: the flying, axe-wielding Getter-1, the quick, drill-wielding Getter-2, and the tough, tank-like Getter-3.

Getter Robo Āḥ is the fifth Getter Robo series chronologically. Taking place several years after Getter Robo Go, Earth is now a post-apocalyptic world. Hayato, now an aging scientist, has completed Professor Saotome's masterpiece, Getter Robo Āḥ. Piloting it are Ryoma's son Takuma, the human-dinosaur Kamui and the younger brother of Tayel, Baku. Alongside the reformed Dinosaur Empire, they fight the insectoid Andromeda Flow Country attacking from across time and space.

After Emperor Gore and the Reptilian empire is defeated, a new enemy, Emperor Burai and his Hyakki empire rises and threatens to take over Earth. Ryoma, Hayato, and newcomer Benkei pilot the new Getter Robo G to save Earth. (Source: Anime News Network)

Years after the events of Getter Robo/Shin Getter Robo, Hayato Jin is the leader of NISAR; a private owned research and weapons development organization based in Japan. He, and Professor Tachibana, have been developing various weapons and building up their forces to deal with a threat that started fifteen years ago: the mad scientist Rando. When Rando's forces begin their terrorist operations around the world, NISAR begins its search for exceptional soldiers to pilot their super weapon, the Getter Robo.

Set during the Moon Wars seen in Getter Robo Armageddon's prologue, and its homonymous radio drama. This chapter sees the original Getter Team fighting the Invaders in the last day of the Moon Wars. Originally published as a bonus chapter in Getter Robo Armageddon's Visual Book and also as a bonus chapter in Shin Getter Robo's volume release.
