Higurashi WHEN THEY CRY: Curse Killing Arc

After moving into the quiet town of Hinamizawa, Maebara Keiichi spends his days blissfully in school often playing games with his local friends. However, appearances can be deceiving. One fateful day, Keiichi stumbles upon news of a murder that had occurred in Hinamizawa. Based on the amateur mystery game by 7th Expansion, the story is told in a series of different scenarios. Watanagashi is the second in a series of manga following the different scenarios of the Higurashi games. It focuses on Mion and Shion Sonozaki's lives.

When a terrible gas explosion in Hinamizawa wipes out everyone in the village, her grandmother is convinced it is the wrath of the village god, Oyashiro-sama. Natsumi's family has never taken Grandmother's beliefs seriously, but her devotion to Oyashiro-sama has taken a frightening turn. In Tatarigoroshi-hen, Keiichi and Satoko develop a brother-sister relationship so when Satoko's abusive uncle returns to Hinamizawa, Keiichi attempts to help Satoko with drastic measures. However, as more and more people die, it is clear he is not the only one involved. This time, the spotlight shines on Satoko Houjou as being the "victim". Keiichi Maebara's passion to protect Satoko turns him into an unknowing villain in this chapter.
