This is a collection of works created by Otomo Katsuhiro between 1980 and 1981, when he was 26-27 years old. The collection includes the title work, which had its six chapters published in the quarterly magazine “Manga Kisotengai” published by Kisotengaisha, as well as four short manga, one short manga, and a series of short stories consisting of 12 stories. “APPLE PARADISE,” a scifi mystery story set on a huge resource-mining spaceship that is about to return to Earth from a distant planet. Similar to the previous volume, "G.....", APPLE PARADISE had never been published in a collected format; but now, at last, all six installments (about 120 pages, unfinished) are included. The collection also includes the Western masterpiece “St. Berg's Hill no Omoide” and the complete “That's Amazing World,” a series of short stories based on fairy tales and literature. The short stories in the collection include two from “SOS Daitokyo Tankentai” (1996, Kodansha), one one-shot and four short stories from “Kanojo no Omoide..” (1990, Kodansha), one one-shot and eight short stories from “Hansel and Gretel” (1981, Sony Magazines), “GOOD WEATHER” (1981/Kitansha), and one short story from ‘GOOD WEATHER’ (1981/Kitansha). The short story “I・N・R・I” was changed to read from right to left when it was first published in a tankobon, but in this volume, it is read from the end of the book from left to right as in the original manuscript, and is reprinted in two-color as it was first published in the magazine. In addition, the short story “ELECTRIC BIRD LAND,” which appeared in black and white when first collected, is reproduced for the first time in its original two-color version as it appeared in the magazine.
