Seiya es un muchacho poco sociable que odia a Ritsuka, una compañera de su clase que siempre se acerca con una sonrisa que él considera poco sincera. Un día, Ritsuka le confiesa que está enamorada de él, y éste la rechaza porque ve a todas las personas como hipócritas y falsas. Ella termina por confesarle que a pesar de haber sufrido un accidente y haber perdido una pierna, ve con optimismo su futuro.
