Yaro Abe, the creator of the manga ``Midnight Diner,'' which has sold a total of 4 million copies, and Fumio Sako, a manga artist and writer. An illustrated essay by two people from Shimanto, Kochi Prefecture, introducing the unique local cuisine and delicious sake of the Hata region in the southwestern part of the prefecture. Contains two works from the same manga that deal with food in Kochi, as well as the newly written ``Shimanto Shokudo.'' A supplementary reading book for ``Midnight Diner'' that describes the ultimate gourmet food and the taste of one's hometown, which can be said to be the origin of the popular manga.

Reishi Yomiyama, an associate professor who teaches folklore at the University of the Far East , went to fieldwork with his student, Kaoru Ikeda, to find out the truth of the many traditions of Shimanto .

A man who calls himself Hakase (professor) works in top class A.I. engineering. He wishes to create the perfect android and he wants to use the beautiful male model Hinatsu as a base. But Hakase becomes a bit too obsessed with the real Hinatsu during his investigations. Hakase is very perverted and does many strange things to learn anything and everything about Hinatsu. Hinatsu wants nothing to do with this nut job and just wishes to look after his little sister. But Hinatsu seems to get dragged into Hakase's messes and trouble keeps on coming their way! In 2023, Eri Sakondo (the mangaka) confirmed that Hakase Ga!! was cancelled after its editor stopped editing manga and Hakase Ga!! was too wild to be handled by another editor. In that same statement, Eri Sakondo also confirms that Hakase Ga!! is a spin off of Kousoku Eiji and that both mangas take place in the same world.
