In 1962, Isao Shibata debuted as a pitcher for the Giants, but his talent was overlooked and he was told to switch to the field. A young girl named Kiriko appeared in front of the discouraged Shibata and presented him with a secret book of Kouga Ninjutsu that she found by chance in her hometown. With her encouragement, Shibata vowed to make a fresh start as a fielder, and learned the secrets of the ninja arts written in the book one by one.
During winter vacation, Hideo accompanied his brother Yusuke on a whaling ship to the Southern Ocean. There, they were attacked by a scorpion monster. Hideo launched an electric harpoon to drive off the monster and allowed their ship to escape. A few days later, Dr. Carl Schmidt came from Germany and revealed the true identity of the monster on TV. The monster, named Sasora by the scientists, was a red scorpion modified for military use by Dr. Von Schmidt's brother during World War II. However, just as he was about to carry out his plan, the FBI destroyed his laboratory in the Amazon, and the red scorpion disappeared into the jungle. Dr. Carl speculated that the red scorpion was exposed to radiation from a nuclear test in the Amazon and became a giant. He apologized on behalf of his late brother, but then came the news that Sasora was on its way to Tokyo!

Having lost his parents in the futile battle, he wished for a world where the common people can live peacefully. Without personal ambition or greed, he served as a strategist to help Oda Nobunaga and Toyotomi Hideyoshi lead their armies to victory, using military science he learned from an early age. After many victories, Toramaru was convinced that Hideyoshi will successfully reunite the entire country. So he left the camp to help those who had lost their parents and family members to recover from the war. After that, it was said that Toramaru was an active advisor in the Korean campaign by Hideyoshi's wish.
