The manga, based on the novel Pierrot ~Yoake Mae~ by Teruhiro Kobayashi, Darai Kusanagi, and Tomoji Nobuta, tells the story of four friends at a girl's high school in Fukushima Prefecture that is feared to have been radioactively contaminated. One of the four committed suicide a month after her college student fiancee told her that he was afraid of having a child with her because he did not want an unhealthy child. The story will deal with subjects such as the fear of radiation and the guilt felt by inhabitants who took refuge in other prefectures.

Zeo, a mysterious young wizard with a giant sword, finds himself in the city of Monea. He is therefore dragged into a group of misfit adventurers led by the pretty priest Tia. Tia seems very interested in making him their ally, and he soon learns why. However, demon summoning magic is forbidden, punishable by death. Tia needs to learn about the art of demon summoning, and she needs a wizard for the summoning itself. Little does she know, Zeo actually has his very own illegal summoned demon, which is why he was so insistent that he wanted to adventure alone. Will he be willing to help Tia with her quest, or will his secret lead to his execution?

Dungeons, and along with them monsters and related disasters, started appearing in the modern world decades ago. With this brought many changes, the biggest one being adventurers and the monster cards they use to summon summons to fight and conquer dungeons with. Kitagawa Utamaro, or just Maro, is a mob highschooler who becomes an adventurer due to being incited by a former friend of his having sudden social success among their peers simply by becoming an adventurer himself. However, things aren't quite as easy for Maro. Just becoming an adventurer in name only isn't enough for him to gain his spotlight, giving him no recourse but to actually tackle dungeons with the peculiar and not very versatile monster cards that he barely manages to scrape up.

In the psycho-suspense story, after a magnitude-7.8 earthquake hits Tokyo's Shibuya ward on November 6, 2009, a black fire spreads and causes mass panic on the day of the earthquake. The sudden disaster that becomes known as the "Shibuya Earthquake" kills 3,851 people and injures 30,927 more. A string of mysterious deaths occurs in Shibuya amidst the reconstruction. People begin to take notice as the strange events start on the same day that chaos broke out in Shibuya with a certain incident six years earlier.
