Miharu, a lonely university student with no family, meets Nio, a handsome entrepreneur who expresses interest in buying a painting that belonged to Miharu’s late parents. Suspicious of Nio’s claim that he would pay any price, Miharu firmly refuses, only for Nio to inexplicably take a liking to him. Soon after, Miharu loses his home in a fire.
