Layla, an ordinary OL, suddenly finds herself reincarnated into a fantasy world known as the Dragon Kingdom. After being rescued by a massive dragon, she takes on the new name Lilac and is allowed to stay in the castle kitchens where the Dragon King himself resides. What awaits her there, however, is a brutal, nonstop work environment that would put even the worst modern “black company” to shame. Drawing on her knowledge of Japanese home cooking, Lilac is promoted to manage the staff meals and boldly introduces proper break times, launching a full-fledged “workstyle reform” in the palace kitchen. One day, a bowl of miso soup meant for the staff is accidentally served to the notoriously cold and fearsome Dragon King. Bracing herself for exile, Lilac is instead met with an unexpected request: “Make this miso soup for me every day.” And just like that, a former ordinary OL begins to win the favor of the cool Dragon King through the power of warm, comforting home-cooked meals.
