In the rural Katsuno City in Hokuriku, the charred bodies of a couple is found in a crematorium. The police believed it was a joint suicide after a long stint of hospice care, so the case was closed. Six months after the incident, Ino, a magazine reporter from Tokyo, comes to Katsuno City for a story. While struggling getting anything out of the tight-lipped locals, he notices 3 things: Dark, distinct tire marks left at the local general store; the couple bought a new car only 6 months before the incident; and a suspicious elementary school student. Those 3 things are the catalyst that will lead to the true depths of what happened.
This one shot takes place between chapter 2 and 3 and was made to promote Jigokuraku.
An anthology by various authors and artists.
On a stormy night, a man gets lost on a mountain road. He decides to spend the night in an abandoned house nearby. However, a mysterious old woman lives alone in what seems like an "abandoned" house. Moreover, the house is filled with garbage.
A Mahjong one-shot published in the September 11, 1981 issue of Weekly Manga Times.
Sakamoto is a seemingly ordinary young man who works at a help desk from 9:00 to 5:00. His lives in a single-family house in a quiet suburb. There, in the basement, which is locked up tight, he lives in a communal arrangement with a girl who has some strange reason to be there. Unusual keywords like "Shoto Family Murders," "Dark Site," "Kidnapping," and "Written Dialogue" - what do they mean? Newcomer Yuji Uchiyama, who has been active at Comitia, depicts a "daily life crime suspense" story with a touch that is entirely unique. (Source: Kodansha, translated)
