Kataribanashi-hen is an anthology, illustrated by several artists. The stories are fanfictions, submitted for Higurashi no Naku Koro ni Awards.

The protagonist, a 30-year-old postman and is plagued by a constant headache, visits a doctor and is told that he has a brain tumour and has not long to live. A devil appears before him and strikes up a bargain. His life will be extended in exchange for something in his life. As the phone disappears; so does the memory of his girlfriend, with the movie; his friend, the watch; his father... In this fantasy human drama, a man struggles with the conflict of erasing his own existence, or his love, friends and family.

Kumada is an office worker who lives his life by avoiding all kinds of risks: "If you're prepared, there's no need to worry.'' "Better safe than sorry'' "A gentleman does not approach danger." One day, a bear suddenly appears in his house as he is enjoying his bachelor lifestyle. It's also a mysterious bear who does housework...!?

The story follows a boy who was in a soccer team, but it was disbanded due to not enough players. However, after the boy meets a female professional soccer player, he aims to bring his soccer team back.

The time is the end of the century, the seas have dried up and the earth has been torn apart, a man in a leather jacket confronts the bad guys that hurts the weak and a loud shout overlaps as he brilliantly defeats the enemy. "Cuut!!". Both the withered seas and the torn earth are large drama sets. This is a record of the blood, tears and sweat of the persons who spent day and night filming the drama "Hokuto no Ken".

This is a story about Hayashida Megumi (known as Lindaman), from the manga Crows, set in his middle school years. Hayashida is an incredibly strong, ridiculously large and very taciturn 'yankee' type middle schooler. Yoshidome Keiichi, a much smaller, weaker, and very talkative classmate starts to hang out with him, and slowly they become friends. All the while, large groups of people keep coming to attack 'Lindaman', due to grudges they have against him or even simply because of his reputation as being very strong.

Atagoul Monogatari takes place in a fantasy world where humans and cats can talk to each other. The story revolves around the adventures of the protagonist, Hideyoshi, and his friends.
