Kango is a loyal samurai at Sanada Yukimura's serving. Unfortunately for him, the Sanada clan is defeated by Tokugawa forces in the assault on Osaka Castle. As a survivor embarks on one of the Japanese Crimson Vessels trading with southern regions, over Taiwan. Other cultures and other people await Kango in this great journey.

He's something of an otaku, and he isn't all that concerned that he's not the top--his dream is to become a sports journalist. This year, everyone knows the team captainship is between the great players Namikawa and Yokosuka. However, the faculty advisor of the baseball club decides this year to choose a captain instead of taking a vote from the players. Based on a desire to involve Kazumasa more in the team (due in large part to a visit from Kazumasa's mother), he chooses Kazumasa as the captain. This mock instructional book has been based so closely on a standard dictionary that each of the four-frame comic panels have been placed in alphabetical order. They are arranged each on one page, with each comic strip depicting the explanation of a particular word. There is an appendix at the back of the book explaining the different styles of gag manga.
