Red, blue, black, yellow and white… five colours talking of life, death, hope. For Chinese people, the number 5 refers to the five senses, the five elements, the five fundamental colours, and more. Jian Yi and his team wanted to paint five different human characters, showing so their guenuine talent in producing these five short stories.

Beijing city, beginning of the '90s. Three young boys coming from different backgrounds become friends, against all odds... ...almost, as the strongest among them will soon crack. Living in difficult conditions under pressure from local gangs creates many opportunities for fights to break out. Too many opportunities... And when love interferes, things become even more complex. Ji’An studio leaves the light tone of “Niumao” to concentrate his talent on painting a fresco about young boys' lives in this tremendous city of Beijing. Although the backgrounds are fully Chinese, the story could take place in any other big city in the wolrd, as it talks of "universal" problems. One of the authors even put himself in the story (Xiao Zhe), and so added a touch of the real world. Here is the renewal of Chinese comics...

So, thanks to a competition, Zhiqiang comes back to the "South Moutain", land of his youth. There, he finds traces of his past, although he came only to take the best pictures of a "magical place"… May be the magic is really here?… After "Butterfly in the air", this is a one shot story designed by this young Chinese artist, guenuine master of colours.

In Chinese traditional stories, the fox is much more than only astute animal: it is a true sex maniac. Male or female, it chases the humans to have sex with them, until they are more than exhausted, ready to change his aspect anytime. Adapted from a Pu Song Ling (1640-1715) tale, this fresco drives us on the steps of little Gu, merchant'son, in his quest to kill this bloody fox, which spends all nights with his mother. Ah ! If his father was not travelling so much...

Rédemption, Infinite, Transcendance… these are the names of the 7 swords, born in the imagination of the Chinese novelist LIANG Yu Sheng, in 1954, and transformed in a beautiful movie by Tsui Hark, well known Chinese movie editor, who asked to 7 seven young asian talents to imagine a story for each of these 7 magic swords. A graphically amazing book which is a witness of the chevalery mind in China.

This elixir of immortality is really hard to be digested! And a lot of people are jealous of our young hero, many of them much stronger than him!
