What if Osamu Tezuka were still alive and creating manga today? What kind of manga would he draw? To answer this question, Tezuka Productions and Kioxia (formerly Toshiba Memory) launched the **"TEZUKA2020"** project: an initiative to create a new Osamu Tezuka manga using AI (artificial intelligence) technology. A manga consists of two main elements: **story** and **art**. For "TEZUKA2020", vast amounts of data on plots and characters from Tezuka's works were extracted and fed into an AI system. Through a process of trial and error, they created what is considered the **world's first manga whose production involved AI**. This book not only details the **production process**, but also includes the resulting work: **"PAIDON" (ぱいどん)**. Furthermore, it contains **"Haetataki" (ハエたたき)**, a chapter from **"Suspicion" (サスピション)**, an AI-related story Tezuka himself drew approximately **40 years ago**. *Source: Kodansha, translated*
From Ablaze: Over the course of his career, legendary mangaka Osamu Tezuka adapted many of Shakespeare's works. Shakespeare Manga Theater collects these adaptations into one volume. The book includes the following: The Merchant of Venice (1959), Robio and Robiette (from Astro Boy, 1965), Macbeth (from Vampire "The Three Fortunetellers", 1966), Hamlet (from Rainbow Parakeet, 1981), The Taming of the Shrew (from Rainbow Parakeet, 1981), and Othello (from Rainbow Parakeet, 1982).
This collection of phantom works features 11 chapters collected here for the first time, as well as Black Jack's final appearance drawn by Tezuka! This volume contains 11 stories from the 67-chapter Midnight serialization in Weekly Shounen Champion from 1986 to 1987 that were never included in volume releases, plus three chapters featuring Black Jack in a crucial role in the final chapter. Presented in the same format as previous Rittorsha Tezuka publications: large B5 size matching the original format, high-definition printing, and valuable end-of-volume materials. While Midnight is one of Tezuka's iconic late-career works, many fans have long eagerly awaited the volume release of its unpublished episodes, which remained unknown for 35 years since their initial publication. This volume is a phantom collection containing those 14 episodes, and it is also the last work Osamu Tezuka drew featuring Black Jack. Furthermore, the end-of-volume materials include original cover art for all 67 episodes, volume cover art, preview cuts, and existing manuscripts of Drive-R, the prototype for Midnight, along with commentary and explanations. This structure allows readers to fully enjoy the appeal of Midnight. (Source: Rittorsha, translated)

A short story published in the magazine "Weekly Shonen King" in September 1974 to commemorate the 30th anniversary of Tezuka Osamu's career as a mangaka. It is a semi-autobiographical manga that depicts Tezuka's main character, Tetsuro Osamu, modeled after Tezuka himself, who desperately lives his life with a passion for manga while the war intensifies day by day at the end of the Pacific War. In the postscript to the Kodansha edition of Tezuka Osamu's Complete Manga Collection, Tezuka wrote that the manga "contains a great deal of fiction", but many of the events depicted in the manga are based on his own experiences, which he also wrote about in his essays and other writings.
