After losing her older brother(a prodigious ice hockey player) in a traffic accident, Izumi Kazama resolves to turn her life around and transfers to the prestigious Seijo Daiichi High School in Tokyo. However, the ice hockey team is in shambles, having been suspended from competition for a year following a violent incident, and Izumi’s passion only serves to rub the upperclassmen (who have turned into delinquents) the wrong way. Izumi’s steely gaze as she endures a hazing-like entrance test moves the heart of the captain, Tokito. Next, all freshmen are required to take an entrance test to assess their ice hockey skills, and six students, including Izumi, pass. A practice match against the upperclassmen is scheduled for a month later, but the freshmen lack a wing player. Izumi is assigned the position, but they are still one player short, so he manages to recruit Sera, a classmate who was known as a “genius wing” in middle school. The series, set in the Heian era, Abe no Masahiro is the grandson of the great onmyōji, Abe no Seimei. Masahiro's dream to surpass his grandfather may not be realised easily as not only does he have to convince the other Shinshō that he is Seimei's true successor, he must also increase his power in order to stop demons coming from China, the other parts of Japan and the Underworld as well as rival onmyōji's who want to destroy Japan.
