# MangaBaka > MangaBaka is a public manga and light novel metadata site with a browsable web app, public API, OpenAPI specification, and database-backed documentation pages. This file is a dynamic index of high-signal public resources for language models and agents. Site-local links are emitted using the current request origin, stable public JSON endpoints are included for structured access, and public documentation entries under `/pages` are included from the live database. URL patterns: - Series pages are rooted at `/{type}/{id}/{slug}` — for example `/manga/222/The-Apothecary-Diaries` — with related subroutes such as `/news`, `/related`, `/covers` and `/report` appended. `{type}` is one of manga, manhwa, manhua, novel, oel, other. - The legacy `/{id}` form still resolves but 301s to the canonical URL above; prefer the canonical form when citing or linking. - Browse hubs: `/{type}` and `/{type}/{sort}`, plus the untyped `/popular`, `/highest-rated`, `/new` and `/trending`. Genre and year listings live at `/{type}/genre/{id}/{slug}` and `/{type}/year/{year}`. - Documentation pages live under `/pages/{section}/{id}-{slug}` and are also discoverable from `/pages`. - Public REST endpoints are rooted at `https://api.mangabaka.org/...`, while the canonical machine-readable OpenAPI schema is `https://mangabaka.org/api.json`. ## Overview - [MangaBaka home](https://mangabaka.org/): Main site for manga and light novel metadata, discovery, and browsing. - [Most popular](https://mangabaka.org/popular): All-time most-read series across every format. - [Latest updates](https://mangabaka.org/new): Most recently catalogued series, every format. - [Documentation index](https://mangabaka.org/pages): Index of public documentation and reference pages. - [Tag browser](https://mangabaka.org/t): Browse public tags used to classify series and related entities. - [Database overview](https://mangabaka.org/database): Human-readable overview of the database and data model. ## MCP server - [MangaBaka MCP endpoint](https://api.mangabaka.org/mcp): Model Context Protocol server over Streamable HTTP, POST only, anonymous with no key or account. Speaks protocol revision 2026-07-28 and rejects every earlier one. Prefer it over the REST endpoints below for agent use: it returns compact records built to be read rather than rendered, and each tool documents the filtering traps that produce confidently wrong answers otherwise. 18 tools: series_search, series_match, series_get, series_get_tags, series_get_relationships, series_get_links, series_get_titles, series_rising, series_hidden_gems, series_recommend, series_readers_also_like, series_from_source_id, tags_find, tags_list, publisher_search, publisher_get, publisher_stats, publisher_similar. ## API - [API documentation](https://mangabaka.org/data/api): Overview of the public API and usage notes. - [API explorer](https://mangabaka.org/data/api/explorer): Interactive API explorer backed by the OpenAPI specification. - [OpenAPI specification](https://mangabaka.org/api.json): Machine-readable API schema for MangaBaka. - [API base URL](https://api.mangabaka.org): Canonical production API root. ## Structured data endpoints - [Series search endpoint](https://api.mangabaka.org/v1/series/search): Search and filter series records through the public JSON API. - [Series endpoint](https://api.mangabaka.org/v1/series): Entry point for series records and per-series API resources. - [News endpoint](https://api.mangabaka.org/v1/news): Programmatic access to aggregated news items. - [Tags endpoint](https://api.mangabaka.org/v1/tags): Public tag taxonomy and related metadata. - [Genres endpoint](https://api.mangabaka.org/v1/genres): Genre list exposed by the public API. - [Collections endpoint](https://api.mangabaka.org/v1/collections): Collection records and related collection APIs. - [Works endpoint](https://api.mangabaka.org/v1/works): Work-level records exposed as public JSON. ## Documentation - [Public pages index](https://mangabaka.org/pages): Entry point for public documentation pages stored in the MangaBaka database. - [MangaBaka General Title Styling and Traits](https://mangabaka.org/pages/general/1-mangabaka-general-title-styling-and-traits): General title styling guide for titles and other identifyable text. - [Publisher Name Styling Guide](https://mangabaka.org/pages/general/8-publisher-name-styling-guide): Guidelines for how official publisher names should be styled in the database. - [Title Type Designations](https://mangabaka.org/pages/general/11-title-type-designations): Clarification about the title type definitions here on MangaBaka for submissions. - [Markdown reference](https://mangabaka.org/pages/help/6-markdown-reference): Stuff we can do with markdown - [Titles v2](https://mangabaka.org/pages/announcements/15-titles-v2): Learn more about titles v2 (and its breaking changes) - [Development Roadmap](https://mangabaka.org/pages/announcements/23-roadmap): Curious about what’s coming next?
